Nearing The End (Slightly)
Well, the 10th of April has come again. I am now twenty-four of your Earth years old.
My birthday has always been a time of great reflection for me, but I'm not going to bore you with all that. There is no place in this blog for personal reflection, no sir!
Excellent day yesterday, excellent morning this morning. Went out to Fitzroys for a pint and a big slab of red-raw steak, which was done to perfection. The Girl refused to try some. This morning, The Girl got up early and went to the nearest bun shop for a box of buns; I had a cream horn. No smutty cream horn jokes, please.
I also got my greedy paws on Shadow Of The Colossus (from GameStop -- Virgin had run out, apparently). I fired it up for about half an hour this morning. First impressions: the game is fantastic. The environment is huge; every rolling hill and every nook and cranny has been lovingly crafted. There is so much to explore. I am still literally miles away from the first Colossus, as far as I can gather.
Expect a full review soon.

(In the future, you know, the 10th of April will replace Christmas as the nation's favorite holiday. Fireworks will fill the air, and writhing human piles of anonymous, greasy lovemaking will spill out on to the streets. Oh yes, it will be a fine day, and everybody will know...everybody will know...)

I was butchering Colossi till the wee hours. Seriously considered calling in sick today so I could lay at home and continue with the slaughter.
Think there may be something wrong with my copy though. Occasionally it'll freeze when you're riding along and you have to jump off Agro to get it going again. Then again, I was belting along at 60 mph for a good 3 miles without stopping. Any game would have problems with that.
I was doing the same! I'm up to number 8 already. Bloody brilliant.
It's great when you finally figure out how to bring down a particularily tricky one.
The very first one just blew my mind. The sheer scale.
Poor Agro: I give him some abuse.
The AI's good though: when you're going down those little winding alleyways, you can point Agro in the right direction and you don't have to steer him.
You can climb to the very top of the 'shrine of worship', you know, for some secret developer stuff. You need your grip/endurance maxed out though.
You can also go back and fight any of the collosi you've already beaten, just for the hell of it.
